Thirty-two students from various faculties at the Lebanese University participated in a friendly rapid chess tournament organized by the Artistic Chess Minds club at the Faculty of Science – Branch 1, with the aim of promoting a spirit of positive competition and developing strategic thinking and analytical skills.
The tournament is also part of the activities organized by the club throughout the year to encourage students to participate in mind sports.
The tournament was supervised by the coach of the Sports Activities Department, Abdelkarim Faqih, in the presence of the activities manager of Branches 1, Saleh Zeaiter.
The rounds were conducted according to the Swiss system (6 rounds, each round lasting 7 minutes + 3 seconds per move).
