Welcome to our page The Institute of Social Sciences focuses on serving social and national institutions, and contributes to comprehensive development of the Lebanese society. In order to promote scientific research coping with the labor market, the Institute established additional research and professional masters in family sociology, politics, knowledge and culture, work, education, population and development, etc.
The Institute of Social Sciences was established at the Lebanese University under Decree No. 2883 dated 16 December 1959, upon the recommendation of the IRFED mission commissioned by the president Fouad Shehab. The establishment of the Institute aimed at serving the national institutions and society.
The Institute covers four governorates, in addition to Beirut, distributed over five branches, as well as the Deanship, a research center, and a number of laboratories.
The Institute aims to prepare and qualify specialists in social sciences and affairs of Lebanese society and the Arab, regional and global entourage. It also aims to consolidate scientific research in the theoretical fields of social sciences.
