Welcome to our page The Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences provides the public and private sectors in Lebanon with legal and administrative human resources. The Faculty concludes scientific exchange agreements with European and Arab universities and internal agreements with renowned organizations such as the Lebanese Army.
The Faculty of Law was established under Decree No. 476 dated 24 January 1959. After almost a year, Decree No. 3333 dated 22 February 1960 was issued establishing the Department of Political Science.
With the issuance of the establishment decree in 1959, a committee was formed to lay down the texts and regulations necessary for the establishment of the Faculty of Law. The Committee accomplished its mission and established the bylaws of the faculty under Decree No. 2516 of 14 November 1959, which restricted the Lebanese government to grant a BA degree or other Lebanese Law degrees, as well as to approve and monitor the curricula of their courses and exams.
The faculty allows students to acquire educational and cognitive achievement to assume leadership responsibility in legal professions, with the aim of contributing to achieving justice, comprehensive and integrated development of society, strengthening national unity and expanding the fields of Lebanese scientific and cultural cooperation with abroad.
The faculty contributes to all public activities in which it participates. It contributes to legislative, administrative and political committees and provides advisors to officials, ministers and representatives. It established the Legal and Administrative Consultation Committee pursuant to Resolution No. 2910 dated 30 October 2014 to provide legal and administrative advice to public sector institutions.
The faculty includes three research centers:
1. Center for Research & Studies in Legal Informatics (established by Decree No. 3144 dated 11 April 1986);
2. Center for Lebanese Legal, Political & Administrative Studies (established by Resolution No. 345 of 16 March 1998);
3. Academic Research Cooperation Center (established by Resolution No. 400 of 19 February 2015).
The faculty issues a specialized periodical journal (Journal of Law & Political Science) that publishes research papers in various branches of law, political and administrative sciences in Arabic, French and English.
