Lebanese University graduates and cybersecurity researchers Hassan Badran and Majd Dhaini were able to discover a serious security vulnerability in the systems of Revolut, one of the largest financial technology companies that provides extensive banking services in Europe.
Badran and Dhaini discovered a vulnerability that indirectly threatens the financial transactions of more than 35 million customers who use the company application. After communicating with Revolut and providing it with a detailed report on the vulnerability, the company confirmed its existence and worked in cooperation with Badran and Dhaini to fix it.
The European company did not allow the publication of the technical details of the vulnerability classified as high, but rewarded Badran and Dhaini and included their names on its list of honor, ranking second globally, which is a rare Lebanese and Arab achievement that did not happen in the company’s history.
