The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) – Branch 2 organized a conference entitled “Public Procurement Law: A Step Towards Public Procurement Governance,” presented by Dr. Jean Alia, President of the Public Procurement Authority and professor of advanced financial law, tax law, public procurement law, and corporate governance.

 

Dr. Alia addressed the importance of public procurement law and its role in the reform and governance of public administration in Lebanon, particularly in the area of public procurement, which accounts for a significant portion of public spending and is considered one of the sectors most vulnerable to manipulation and corruption.

 

He also emphasized the principles established by the law in the areas of transparency, integrity, accountability, publicity, competition, equal opportunity, and fair and equal treatment, considering that this law constitutes a fundamental step toward consolidating the concepts of a
