On the occasion of World Midwives Day, the Faculty of Public Health – Branch 5 organised a scientific day under the supervision of the director of the midwifery department, Dr. Nadine El Ghotmi.
The scientific day was attended by the dean of the faculty, Dr. Elie Hadchiti, the director of the branch, Dr. Nijez Aloulou, the President of the Lebanese Order of Midwives, Dr. Rima Cheaitou, and the head of social relations of the Order, Ms. Hoda Al Yaman, as well as a number of professors, doctors, trainers and students from the department.
The presentations focused on the importance of the legal midwifery profession and its essential role in caring for women and families.
The discussion also addressed the topic of breast and cervical cancer, and the latest advances in treatments, modern techniques and vaccines were presented.
