Faculty of Public Health - Branch I

The Sol.O. project by Dalia Massoud, from the Faculty of Public Health (Branch 1), won the GIL HADATH Entrepreneurship Program competition, which aims to provide opportunities and support youth in creating and managing small businesses.

Out of 12 participating projects, Sol.O. won funding, support and training to implement an activated charcoal project that is manufactured from organic waste for use in agriculture.

This product helps the farmer improve the quality of his crops by cleaning the soil and purifying the water absorbed by the plant to improve its growth. The effectiveness of this product was confirmed through several laboratory experiments under the supervision of Dr. Akram Hijazi and engineer Marwa Rammal.

It is noteworthy that Dalia is pursuing a second-year master’s degree at the Faculty of Public Health, specializing in the analysis of water and food chemistry.
