Objective: To discuss the writer’s work and his vision of the world

Laurent Gaudé is a contemporary French writer, playwright and novelist, winner of the Goncourt des lycéens prize in 2002 and the Goncourt 2004 for his novel Le Soleil des Scorta.

The work of Gaudé is characterized by its protean aspect. It escapes any classification and thus the author creates a new literary genre.

The plot of the novels oscillates between the oppressive reality and the imaginary, the real world and the mythical universe. The hero, unable to integrate into society or rejected by it, finds an escape in an elsewhere outside time and space.

Target audience: University teachers and students.

Date: Tuesday June 14, 2022 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm (Beirut time) via Zoom
