The French Embassy in Lebanon has just launched the 2025 call for applications for the SAFAR doctoral scholarship program. These grants, co-financed by the Lebanese University and the French Embassy, are awarded to Lebanese doctoral students enrolled in a cotutelle thesis with a French institution from the start of the 2025 academic year.
Their aim is to initiate a research project or strengthen existing scientific collaboration.
Funding from the French Embassy covers the stay in France of selected PhD students for 3 academic years (4 calendar years), alternating with a stay in Lebanon. The total duration of the stay in France should be 18 months and may not exceed 6 months per year. As an indication: 4 months in 2025; 6 months in 2026; 6 months in 2027; 2 months in 2028.
