Applications are now open for the joint research master between the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences (FHSS) of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) and the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences (FLHS) of the Lebanese University for the academic year 2021-2022.
Location: Deanship of the FLHS – Dekwaneh.
1- Curriculum & Objectives:
The Master in “Russian-Eastern Relations & Interactions” adopts an interdisciplinary and complementary methodology that aims to train specialists capable of promoting historical, cultural and civilizational relations as well as the places of historical and cultural interactions between Russia and the countries of the Middle East, and to identify the role of Russia in the Middle East from the 18th century.

2- Degree:
At the end of the program, Lebanese or Russian students obtain a double degree from the Lebanese University and RUDN.
3- Career Opportunities:
The program allows students to pursue PhD studies and hold academic and research positions in the diplomatic sector, international organizations and the media.

Lebanese and Russian students.
5- Admission & Registration:
Lebanese applicants are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree from:
The FLHS of the Lebanese University or other universities.
The Faculty of Pedagogy, the Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Information, or the Institute of Social Sciences of the Lebanese University or other universities.
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in one of the specializations of the above-mentioned faculties who have obtained an average of 12/20 or higher are subject to:
An entrance exam consisting of two tests:
• A general culture test on Lebanese-Russian relations in Arabic.
• A general culture test in a foreign language (French, English or Russian).
A study of the academic file (priority to Russian-speaking candidates who master at least one foreign language).
An oral interview (for candidates who have passed the written tests with an average score of 10/20 or higher).
At the end of the entrance exam, the file study and the interview, any candidate whose total score is greater than or equal to 10/20 is considered admitted according to the following criteria:
The entrance exam counts for 40% of the total score, the file study and the oral interview for 30% each.
Admitted candidates are selected according to their ranking and within the limit of the predetermined numbers.
6- Important Dates:
Application deadline: Monday, 10 May to Wednesday, 26 May 2021.
Date of the entrance exam: Wednesday, 2 June 2021 at 8:00 am.
Publication of results: Monday, 7 June 2021.
Oral interview and list of admitted candidates: Friday, 11 June 2021.

The Lebanese jury is composed of the Dean of the FLHS, Prof. Ahmad Rabah, and Dr. Maha Jarjour and Dr. Ali Fattouni.
The Russian jury is composed of the Dean of the FHSS, Prof. Vladimir Tsvyk, and Dr. Nadezha Smolik, Dr. Galina Lukyanova and Dr. Liudmila Ponomarenko.
