Lebanese University

Launched in 2016, the program awards scholarships to Syrian students with outstanding academic records (with priority given to those under 28 years) in fields that are strategic for Syria or in which France is recognized for its expertise.

It allows for the awarding of language scholarships (French as a Foreign Language scholarship lasting 1 to 2 years) and then study scholarships (lasting 2 to 3 years) to Syrian students residing in Lebanon. As Syrian students generally have a poor command of the French language, this program allows students, by way of derogation, to spend a year or two in France in a FLE center (French as a Foreign Language) (with a view to obtaining the required B2 level) before entering university.

This step facilitates their integration and promotes their academic success.

To be eligible for the Program, candidates should meet the following conditions:

– Be a Syrian national.

– Be a resident of Lebanon.

– Hold a bachelor’s degree.

– Have planned to enroll for the 2025/2026 academic year in a master’s degree or to complete a year of FLE (French as a foreign language) in 2025/2026 with a view to entering a master’s degree course at the start of the 2025 academic year.

– Not have already benefited or not already be a beneficiary of a scholarship from the French government.

Students qualifying for refugee status or asylum seeker status should hold or be in the process of obtaining a valid residence permit.

Candidates should send their application (as an attachment) to the following two addresses:

priscilla.moussallem@diplomatie.gouv.fr

Gwendoline.aboujaoude@if-liban.com
