Centre MINE invites you to the “Be Your Own Boss” Workshop by the USAID Higher Education Capacity Development Program (USAID HECD)
The primary objective of the BYOB Workshop is to provide entrepreneurship skills for students who may be interested to start their own small business. The BYOB workshop is a practical, activity-based training which provides step-by-step business skills important for environmental scanning, identifying small business opportunities, and developing and operationalizing a small business plan.
Specific BYOB Workshop Objectives
By the end of the BYOB workshop, students will be able to:
- Explain the meaning of goals of a business
- Identify the characteristics and traits of a successful business owner
- Assess their own characteristics, attitudes, and skills related to being business owners
- Begin to identify, analyze, and select their own business ideas
- Conduct simple market research
- Develop their own simple marketing plan
- Describe the value of increasing a customer base
- Separate personal and business expenses
- Calculate income, expenses, and profit
- Keep basic financial records
- Develop their own simple business plan
- Practice some skills for engaging business owners and customers

- May 27, 2021: Module II – My Business Needs Customers
- May 28, 2021: Module III – Managing my Business and Personal Finance
- May 29, 2021: Module IV – My Pathway for my Business
Lebanese University students from all Faculties and Branches are welcomed to join especially non-business majors !
