The requirements for the registration of students of the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences for the academic year 2021-2022, in the bachelor and master’s degrees, are as follows:

 

Bachelor’s Degree:

In order to accept students for the bachelor’s degree, they shall pass a standardized Competitive Entrance Exam (CEE) organized by a decision of the University Council based on the recommendation of the Faculty Council. The maximum number of students who can be accepted as a result of the CEE is determined according to the capacity of each branch.

 

Research or Professional Master

  1. Graduates of the FLHS
  • Students of the new system (B.M.D.) or the old system (4 years) wishing to obtain a research master’s degree, shall be holders of a bachelor’s degree in the same major with an average of 13.5/20;
  • Students of the new system (B.M.D.) or the old system (4 years) wishing to obtain a professional master’s degree, shall be holders of a bachelor’s degree in the same major with an average of 12.5/20.
  1. Graduates of other universities in the same major
  • Holding a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, and the duly equivalency thereof;
  • Obtaining a cumulative average (CGPA) of no less than 13.5/20 in the Bachelor of the appropriate specialization to prepare for the research master’s degree;

Or

  • Obtaining a cumulative average (CGPA) of no less than 12.5/20 in the Bachelor of the appropriate specialization to prepare for the professional master’s degree;
  • Passing the CEE organized by a decision of the University Council based on the recommendation of the Faculty Council, in which the maximum number of students accepted is determined.

 

  • The unified CEE for the Bachelor’s degree is held in the faculty branches. The CEE for the master’s degree is held in the FLHS Deanship as follows:
  • The CEE in the bachelor’s degree, includes one “Psychometrics” exam, with a duration of two hours.
  • The CEE at the master’s degree, includes two exams:
  • Exam in General Culture in the major (Arabic Language)
  • Exam in General Culture in major (Foreign Language)

The duration of each exam is two hours.

 

  • Non-Arabic speaking foreign students who have not sit for or passed the previously mentioned Arabic Language exam, are subject to a course(s) at the Office of Language Coordination until succeeding and achieving the required level.

 

  • Note: Students cannot be registered in the Department of Psychology according to track opening.
