Student Amer Makki, from the Faculty of Fine Arts & Architecture – Branch 1, won the Best Lebanese Heritage Theme Award in the Lebanese Heritage Short Film Competition organized by the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik and AJYAL, with the participation of several Lebanese art faculties.
Makki entered the competition with a documentary film about Old Sidon, in which he explored the heritage of this region, including its popular cafes, Arab baths, and soap museum.
In the first round of the competition, student Hussein Kanso (FFAA – Branch 1/2nd year, specializing in Cinema & TV) also qualified for the list of the top ten films. The projects were judged by a committee chaired by actor and director Georges Khabbaz and including actor Badih Abou Chakra, actress Diamant Bou Abboud, director Samir Siriani, and sound designer Rana Eid.
