Faten Slim, from the Doctoral School of Literature, Humanities & Social Sciences, won first place in the European Training Foundation’s “Green Skills Award 2023”, beating out 70 countries worldwide from among 600 participating university projects.

Faten presented an innovative educational initiative on integrating environmental sustainability into school education, with the aim of educating students and engaging and empowering the community on environmental issues to ensure a sustainable future for future generations.

Thanks to her victory, Lebanon came first for its “Zero Waste” initiative, a first in this internationally recognized award for academic and educational excellence.

Faten was honored at an awards ceremony held in Brussels as part of the “Meet the Leaders of Excellence” conference program.
