Faculty of Law, Political and Administrative Sciences - French Subsidiary

Under a grant from the French Embassy in Beirut, second-year master’s students at the Faculty of Law, Political & Administrative Sciences (French Section) including Bianda Damaj, Marianne Kiwan and Hadi Shahrour attended a training course at the National Judicial Institute in Paris on the topic of “Discovering the French Judiciary”.

The students followed the course for ten days, which included lectures on important topics such as the basic principles of civil and criminal law in France, violence against women, international child abduction, and the international protection of minors.

The course allowed students to learn about the structure of the French judiciary and the role of its institutions, visit courts in Paris, and meet a group of French, German, Russian, Italian and Japanese judges who participated in this international event and highlighted the most important features of the judiciary in their countries.
